Healthy Apple Crisp – a family favorite

Sure, it’s got butter and brown sugar, but fresh apples and rolled oats make it one healthy and yummy dish. And it’s really fast and easy to make! Here we go.

Ingredients

      • 1/2 cup rolled oats
      • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
      • 1/4 cup all purpose flour
      • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
      • 1/4 cup butter
      • 6-10 apples (depending on the size)
      • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
Preheat oven to 350º
Peel apples if desired
Slice apples into bite-sized pieces
Fill a 9×13 pan to the top
Thoroughly stir oats, brown sugar, flour, and cinnamon
Add softened butter
Cut in until mixture resembles course crumbs
Sprinkle granulated sugar over the apples
Cover the top with crumb mixture
Bake at 350º for 40-45 minutes
Remove once apples are broken down and soft
Serves 6-8. This crisp tastes its best served hot over a bowl of vanilla ice cream!
