Apple Cider vs. Apple Juice?

You may have wondered in the past about the difference between apple cider and apple juice. They look and taste so incredibly different, it’s even hard to believe they come from the same fruit!

Apple cider is the true apple juice–freshly squeezed from pressed apples, the juice is not filtered to remove any of the pulp or sediment. This makes apple cider appear a bit cloudier than apple juice. Cider has an earthier, complex sweet and tangy taste depending on what varieties of apples are used.

Apple juice is cider that has been heated and filtered, making it clear. It has a simple sweet taste that is great for drinking with breakfast.

At Apple Blossom, our apple cider is unpasteurized and has a beautiful blend of sweet and tangy apple flavor. It can be consumed cold, but our favorite way to drink it is heated with mulling spices. Hot apple cider is the best way to warm you up on a cold day.

Here is our recipe for mulling spices!
2 oranges (you only need the dehydrated peel chopped into bits)
15 cinnamon sticks, crushed into chips
4 tablespoons whole cloves
4 tablespoons whole allspice
Whole cardamom, star anise, peppercorns of any color to taste

1. Crush the cinnamon and place it in a mixing bowl
2. Add cloves, allspice, dried orange peel, and other ingredients and toss until well mixed
3. Store in air-tight containers and use as needed.

Add 1 tablespoon to each 8oz of apple cider and heat to a simmer. Enjoy!

Right now apple cider is available for pre-order for just $6.95/gallon. Please give us a call at 920.993.7277 or email us to reserve your cider now!
